And it sounds like you handled the secret fire/chemical play well by letting your son know that it's not OK to play with random stuff he finds in the garage. <br /><br />I like Jill's comment about reminding kids what to do if something goes awry. <br /><br />And I love it that your son was thoughtful enough to only paint items he knew wouldn't cause upset.
